Indigenous Facts - Wela’lin (wa law lyn) means thank you to one person in the Mi’kmaw language.
The word Mawiomi (maw ee o me) means “the gathering”. Some will also use the word Powwow. A Mawiomi is a social gathering held by Indigenous communities to meet to dance, sing, socialize and honor their culture.
