Day of Silence - Today is International Day of Silence to spread awareness about the effects of bullying and harassment of LGBTQ+ students. During the day, students take a day-long vow of silence to symbolically represent the silencing of LGBTQ+ students in the past and present.


Earth Day – is celebrating today as a reminder to protect the environment, restore damaged ecosystems and live a more sustainable life. First celebrated in 1970, this year marks its 52nd anniversary.


Badminton - Congratulations to Makhno Iskra and Jack Zhou as they are the Regional Badminton Champions in Boy’s Doubles. The boys defeated Auburn High, Sommet High and Halifax West to win the Gold medal. Congratulations to Dandi Li, who won the Silver medal in Girls Singles defeating Ecole Sommet and Ridgecliff JH. Dandi, Makhno, and Jack will represent Fairview JH at the Provincial Championships next Saturday, April 30, in Truro. Good luck to our players.


Track and Field Tryouts:
Hurdles – today during lunch time
Long Jump & Triple Jump - Monday at lunch. Bring your lunch to the gym.
Also, anyone fasting, will have a final tryout for Track & Field on Thursday, May 5, for any event. It will be from 2:30-4:30pm. Meet Mr. Gallagher in the Gym.


Best Buddies - There will be a meeting today at lunchtime in the Learning center.


Yearbook – Mme Caracristi’s room (# 205) will be available during the 2nd half of lunch for students to work on their yearbook pages.


Rugby – There will be a practice today after school, from 2:30 till 4:00 pm. Please meet Mr. Morton on the back field.


Yearbook Committee – There will be a mandatory meeting on Monday, April 25 during lunch time in the Library for students designing pages.
