Red Dress Day - Today is the National Day of Awareness and Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Gender diverse people. On this day we aim to raise awareness about this ongoing crisis and take action. Today we remember the people who have lost their lives to colonial, gender-based violence, and their families and communities that live daily with the grief of losing loved ones. The Native Women's Association of Canada estimates the number of missing persons is near 4,000. In many cases these missing person reports are not investigated properly due to racism and colonialism. Canada and its government must make a commitment and take action to help prevent these horrible crimes from continuing. A big thank you to all who wore red today to show support for those navigating these terrible tragedies and helping to continue the conversation to bring forth action.  Wela'lin (We-la-lin)
