Rugby - Congratulations to the Fairview Lions Rugby Club, who showed themselves to be the biggest, strongest, fastest junior high rugby club in Nova Scotia yesterday. Fairview entered 3 teams in the final tournament, with 18 players from grade 7-9, and everyone represented Fairview Junior High with skill and character. In particular, congratulations to Fairview team "B", who won more games than any other team at the tournament. Team members were:

o Ini Onabanjo
o Ethan Metzger
Special congratulations to Brennan Smith, who was named player of the tournament by Fairview's opponents.

 

Softball – There will be tryouts today right after school at Piercey Field. Remember to bring your glove.

 

Garden Club - Join us for our Garden Club meeting tomorrow at lunch in room 222! This week we will learn how to make plant hangers for houseplants, everyone is welcome

 

Trip to Observatory – Fairview Astronomy and Space team, after-school field trip forms are due by tomorrow or Monday at very latest. See their Google Classroom for details on the time change from 6:30 pm to now starting at 6:00 pm. The event is still on Tuesday, June 7th and from 6:00-9:00pm. We are going to Saint Mary's University observatory, all are welcome!

 

Frozen Treats – It’s getting hotter out! Come to the main lobby next Monday (June 6th) and Friday (June 10th) for frozen treats such as popsicles, freezies and ice cream! A sale will be during lunch time (11:15 – 11:45 for Grade 8s and 9s and 11:45 – 12:15 for Grade 7s). Proceeds will go to the Adsum House who work to support marginalized individuals and families who experience poverty and homelessness in Halifax. Bring your loonies and toonies on Monday for a treat and a great cause.

 

Boat Cruise – Attention grade 9s, there will be a boat cruise dinner on June 15. The cost of the trip is $ 36.00. You can purchase it online or bring cash (exact amount) or cheque to the office.
