Fairview Junior High

September 29th, 2023

Truth and Reconciliation - Thank you to all who are participating in our school's Orange Shirt Day. Fairview is honoring and remembering the survivors and victims of Residential schools today. While September 30th is a holiday for us here in Nova Scotia, we are only one of 3 provinces who have declared this day a holiday. The other provinces have not, and leave the decision to take a day off to remember up to businesses to decide. We hope you will use your day off on Monday, October 2nd to take time and remember the survivors and victims of Residential Schools.

Girls B Volleyball – The team will have their first practice today at lunch. All girls are welcome on the team as long as they come to practice.

School Council - Miss Fitzpatrick, Miss Caines and Miss Beaton would like to thank everyone who applied for student council and to teachers who wrote recommendations. The applications were all fantastic and it was very difficult to select official student council members. An email will be sent out to successful applicants today by the end of the school day to your GNSPES email.

Truth and Reconciliation Day Observed – Will be on Monday, October 2. There is no school. We’ll see you on Tuesday, October 3.
