Fossils found in Africa show that modern humans evolved there about 5 to 10 million years ago and spread from the African continent. One of the earliest pieces of evidence of human life was found in South Africa. “Mrs Ples and the Taung (pronounced Tong) Child are among the most important fossils.

Assembly Teams - There grade 6&7 assembly team will meet in the library at lunch today. See you there. Will the grade 8&9 tech team please meet in the library at the beginning of lunch today to set up for an assembly this afternoon. If you cannot make it, please see Mrs. Chisholm.
Dungeons and Dragons - All week 1 and week 2 Dungeons and Dragons groups will meet this afternoon. Please go to your usual rooms. If you are unable to attend, please let Mr. Kloppenburg or Mr. Burke know.
Badminton Practice – Junior badminton practices will start this week: Mondays and Tuesdays – after school, Wednesdays – at lunch.
Grade 6 Trivia Club – Attention Grade 6s, if you’re interested, sign up for trivia club in Ms. Robertson's room. It will be every Thursday for 5 weeks during second half of lunch (from 11:40 to 12:15pm). lots of fun with friends and prizes to be won!

Talent Show - Anyone interested in participating in the Talent Show - today is the last day to sign up - please see Mrs. Chisholm when you have a moment. Auditions will be Friday at lunch to present next week to the school. Be brave! Show us what you've got!
Badminton tournament - is being held Wednesday, (26th) Thursday, (27th) and Friday (28th) of next week. Students you can sign up for the tournament today and tomorrow spot for the tournament.

It's a doubles tournament, you must have a partner
It is 2$ per duo
It will be held at lunch Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
There will be two 'levels' more competitive and less competitive
